What a story to tell!
The former home of Herbert Austin founder of the Austin Motor company, known as The Grange is a Victorian House of huge proportions. Set in 25 acres of prime countryside, this beautiful house now divided into luxury apartments it the quintessential English character property.
The building once wholly owned, spent some of the intervening years as a school before being sold and developed into private dwellings.
David and Janet, owners of the Wolseley suite fondly named after the famous Wolseley Motor Car Company embarked on a journey to find the right replacement window product for their home, looking for a modern window which would retain the original features of the property.
Weeks of research lead them directly to the door of the Residence collection and after a careful consultation period the decision to use Residence 9 was made.
Special features were specified like; Working butt hinges and feature drip bar on the outside, while authentic bronze handles and stays were specified for the inside. Even the colour choice was bespoke, selecting clotted cream internally that perfectly matched up with the internal timber features and traditional grained white exterior to complete the period appearance.
Naturally the “look” had to be authentic, but the manufacturing process was anything but… Utilising the very latest Timberweld TM technology Stedek were able to recreate the true timber alternative appearance whilst giving the homeowners the very best in thermal performance with fully sealed joints.
Installers KM Installations (Karl Muller 07914361921) put the very best technicians on the job to ensure all the planning and details present in fabrication were matched with a first-class installation, and the final results are just stunning.
